I need chocolate!

I had a "I NEED chocolate" moment today. I took Gabrielle to town for ice skating with some friends. As usual my schedule was crammed with everything I need to do in town while she is skating; I had just enough time to drop her off, run all the errands, pick her up and get home to get the boys off to BSA camp.

I pulled in fine, stopped and let her out but when I went to leave I just spun -- I was TOTALLY and COMPLETELY stuck in the snow. What is most embarrassing about this is the fact that there was probably only 2" of snow on the ground and it was flat!!! Underneath the snow however was a sheet of ice and I could not get enough traction to get moving again. I tried to get the chains on; I tried to dig it out. Two different friends tried to pull us out - we tried EVERYTHING we could think of. It took an HOUR to get moving again!!! How embarrassing!!! I am so thankful to our friends who stayed and helped me get out!!! Gabrielle said she was a little confused as she saw me pulling AWAY from the ice rink when she was expecting me to pick her up!!! She had to walk two blocks to where I could park out of the ice and snow.

Needless to say - so much for being on time -- so much for completing my errands. By the time I got home I was stressed, tired and ready to cry. Why can't I learn to be more flexible and just relax about these character stretches???

Gratefully, now I am home, warm, and it is quiet. The boys are all out camping - it is just the girls, Koliah and I tonight. Maybe I will work on sewing for a bit and drink a cup of tea or maybe hot chocolate. Hhmmmmmm...........
