Whew

Ever feel like sitting down somewhere and going WHEW!?!?!?!?

That is how I feel this morning - the Lord is caring for us gently but it has just been a crazy week.

Friday night my DARLING dear husband (DDH :) ) took the baby for me and sent me to bed. I was pretty much a walking zombie anyway and not getting much accomplished. I got three hours of uninterrupted sleep and the Lord granted Koliah a good night as well. Even after I nursed him and went back to bed he only woke up twice and went back to sleep easily. I woke up Saturday feeling so refreshed!

Zachy is feeling so MUCH better!!! His hand is still swollen and tender but he is feeling better day by day. He gets his cast on Thursday. He has gotten lots of suggestions from friends and family -- he has some thoughts on the issue but some will depend on what is available in the office. He had a low spot yesterday when he realized his limitations for the next eight weeks. The doctor already told us absolutely NO skiing - even casted it is just too high a risk. With both bones broken and one of them minimally displaced already we are going to have more restrictions. He has not been sledding and this weekend we got 8" of fresh snow and we have a "snow park" in our front yard. The kids had all worked on it but Elijah and Tim perfected it. They come down off the canal wall at a VERY steep angle, go over a really good jump and then it knifes around the front of the property parallel to the road. Tim set it up well with an orange barrier fence as well to keep them out of danger. Watching the other kids sledding yesterday was tough and he got news yesterday that he will probably not be able to go on the snow-shoe hike with the scouts either. He is SOOOOO disappointed.

Any great project ideas that would occupy a one-handed varmint?? He has told me that he is SICK of movies which is of course fine with me. He has some good books to occupy him and I am looking at getting him a few others to read while he is down but especially on the days when the rest of the family is skiing I would like to have some special things that he can do while he is home. Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!

I went snow-shoeing with Natalie and Gabrielle yesterday. Not an intense adventure, just a three mile walk around the irrigation canal in our neighborhood. It works some muscles that normal walking seems to ignore. I am feeling my legs today; it is a great feeling to know I worked those muscles :)

Other than that I am trying to catch up from last week's craziness and work on some sewing projects that are looming ahead. Regalia for our ConfiDance group is Medieval this year (May 8!!) Gabrielle has already started her dress. She chose a BEAUTIFUL olive green fabric - I think she will look GORGEOUS in it! I also have a few other ideas percolating in my brain; we'll see if I can bring them around to materialize. Gotta scoot - I will really try to post some new pictures in the next day or two. Keep checking!!!
