Tim took Judah and Zachy out camping with the Boy Scouts last weekend at Hellgate. They had a great time -- they would go out in the evening so they could roast hot dogs, make smores, and sleep in a tent and then they would come home in the morning so they could have the day at home. It was especially great for Zachy -- he regained the spring in his step and has been much more content with his situation the rest of this week. He has declared himself the official photographer of the kids activities and that has helped also. I admire his willingness to rejoice for the other's kids opportunities and not be pouty or grumpy that they get to do fun things. He is a great little guy :)
Other than that it has just been a busy week of responsibilities, PEARLS, small group, the kids in True U (The Truth Project for Youth) and misc. other activities. It has warmed up and the snow is melting away. I love to sit and listen as I am here at the computer. The dripping of the snow off the roof stirs my heart for springtime -- daffodils, tulips, crocus and trees pregnant with blossoms.
We did have one downer this week - one of our big does miscarried her kids yesterday. They were about half way or a little more through gestation. It is always grievous to me to see those losses -- some farmer I am!!!
On a more philosophical vein......
My sister posted this week a Scandinavian saying --
Faith is a bird that FEELS the dawn breaking and sings while it is yet dark.
It has been in my heart since she shared it -- God's hope is what allows us to have the faith to sing because we KNOW that the dawn is coming. Regardless of what we see around us, regardless of the losses and cares that we face every day God is still in control. What a blessed thought!! I hope you can sing this week!!
