I looked at my posts last night to realize that I had once again missed my goal of posting weekly. Sorry. I know it sounds pathetic but my days go by in a blur and days run into weeks rapidly.
Let's see...........Where did I leave off??
The boys enjoyed a weekend camping out at Canyon Ferry Lake. I personally would rather stay inside with a a warm cup of tea and a good book!!! They had a great time however, although they did confess that it was pretty wet and windy. Eight different troops participated. The boy's troop (#1211) came in second for their performance over the weekend in preparedness and working together. They participated in a Klondike race which they enjoyed. They built an ice wall for ice fishing to keep the wind away. Josiah especially enjoyed learning how to ice fish although it was too windy to stay at it for long without an ice shed. They actually enjoyed cooking their meals also. Josiah said though that when he cooked Elijah was too "chicken" to try his cooking. Elijah said that in his defense the hamburgers were scorched on the outside and frozen on the inside. Josiah says that they were "fine!" They came home filthy, wind-kissed and VERY tired.
They leave again next weekend to snow-shoe out 4-1/2 miles to a cabin in the mountains where they are building (and sleeping in, I might add) snow caves. Tim is going out with them on this adventure. However, he and the scoutmaster are sleeping in a cabin!!! Sounds like a smart plan to me -- I think I will enjoy the nice warm fire and a cup of tea instead :)
Tim has continued to recovery really well and rapidly. Far better than last time. He has been back to work two weeks and doing well. He is back to working on the new house, insulating the cathedral ceiling and putting in alpine around the windows in the front. I am getting more and more excited about moving but to be honest it is getting harder and harder to remain patient also. I'm as bad as the kids.
Tim and the kids went skiing last week (Friday - 2/1). Tim actually didn't ski; he took Judah. It was Judah's first time. Judah did very well. They are scheduled to ski again next week and Tim is planning on taking Judah up on the lifts with him to ski on more slopes than the bunny-hill. I will try to post some pix today of my littlest skier.
I think that is about it really. Nothing too exciting. Mostly just school, chores, and the day-to-day responsibilities. I hope your day is blessed!
