This weekend brought all kinds of interesting events. Let's see......
Tim and my two older boys headed out to Hellgate Camp Area with the Boy Scouts. They had a great time and actually their troop won a Klondike (sled) race across the frozen lake. Elijah came up with the idea apparently to use a tarp to harness the wind which worked pretty well to get them moving (at least most of the time) Elijah said that the wind was not as consistent as he would have liked.
While they were camping the first night I had to contact Sandra (my friend and the Scoutmaster's wife) to go retrieve Timmer. Judah decided to pretend he was a monkey and jumped towards Gabrielle's desk from her bed. He was supposed to be going to sleep in there but that is another issue entirely. He missed the desk, fell and managed to hit a very small exposed corner of the bedframe cutting his head open and bleeding profusely. My husband (knight-in-shining-armor that he is -- he is TOTALLY fabulous!!!) came down and fixed Judah's head with superglue. Most of the hospitals are using that now instead of stitches on these types of wounds and we thought, why pay for a doctor to do it ????
He is healing very nicely. Tim did a great job.
Bekah - my little darling the second day of boyscout camp was coloring sweetly, contentedly on the floor. I started talking on the phone to my friend Sandra and what do you know, here comes Bekah with her nose colored deep emerald green. To put this in perspective Grandpa George got Rebekah a great little movie by Max Lucado called "If I had a Green Nose" last year for Christmas. It is a story about the Wemmicks, a group of hand-carved little wooden people who are always getting into adventure. Punchinello who is the main character always learns valuable lessons. This story was about all the wemmicks painting their noses the same color to be "With-it" and how Punchinello learns following the crowd does nothing for him, he can't keep up with their fickle changes, and it diminishes the special little person who the Creator made him to be. Adorable story, very good lesson --- very green nose on my little pumpkin. She hasn't even watched it in weeks but oh well....... most of the green scrubbed off, you can still see the underlying hue. I wonder how long marker stays in the pores???
Nothing else too much to report at present. House is still on the market. We are plugging away at life in general. The world is still pretty frightening.
My verse for this last week is one from Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
I have not yet mastered it but am working to keep my mind stayed on God, trusting in Him - His love for me, His love for my family - His ultimate plan. I can't change it, take it on myself or do anything by worrying. Christ, keep me in your perfect peace!
Have a marvelous week!
