Family doings

The boys spent most of Valentine's Day working to release the dogs with BSA for the Race to the Sky -- an annual dog sled race; I suppose it is actually two races, one is 200 miles and one is 300 miles. They had fun seeing the racers, setting the dogs loose to race and being a part of the race. We heard on the radio yesterday that the winner of the 200 miler came in. He left Lincoln I think they said at 12:38 pm on Saturday and came in yesterday morning at 12:31 am -- 36 hours and 200 miles that is INSANE!!!!

The boys are getting ready to go on their second snow-shoe hike. Four miles up into the hills to earn the privilege of making and sleeping in snow caves. Hope they have fun -- does not sound like ANY fun to me! They leave Saturday morning and will be back sometime Sunday evening.

Gabrielle and I are still furiously sewing -- anxious for the upcoming Regalia. Getting down to the end of it - I will be glad when it is a project off my plate. I should have started far sooner and paced it out but as usual.......... procrastination. What a terrible character flaw I have.

Let's see......... Bekah decided to pull a first yesterday - not even adventurous Judah had tried this one. She stuffed toilet paper up her nose and inhaled it. YUCK!!! She seems to be fine today.

Oh, Tim and I went with some friends to see Fireproof on Friday night as a date. He and the kids skiied all day Friday and then we went out in the evening. We had a great time together and I can't recommend the movie highly enough. It was VERY well done and by far and away the best thing Kirk Cameron has ever participated in. FABULOUS movie!!!! Go see it!!!

I am excited to say that our bees are still humming. I was a little concerned because it has been so cold and icky. Weird weather - no snow, no rain just cold. The weather warms and then gets quite cold. With all the weirdness I didn't know if they would live. However I am happy to report that Tim and Elijah put them back on their little knoll yesterday and they came buzzing out to see what the world looked like at the moment :) I am very happy to see them again - you really do get attached to the little critters. (It seems so weird to say that about bugs)

Nothing too much to report overall I guess, just wanted to check in. Hope you are having a marvelous day!
