My little entrepeneur

My Bekah-boo loves to come to Farmer's Market with Zachy and I.  This has proven to sometimes be difficult because she wants to wander and look at all the other booths rather than stay in ours so I am sure to bring color books, pencils/crayons, paper, etc.  Well.... she has gotten some attention as she sits and colors in my booth.  She is a smart cookie and decided that if she was going to sit and color she may as well make some money.  She went to market this last Saturday with 10 pictures ready to go.  I did up a small table sign that said Rebekah's Refrigerator Art - .25 per masterpiece and she drew pictures on the sign as well.  Zachy suggested she use a small white board with magnets; they set her up at the corner of my booth really cute.

Market opened, fairly slow for a Saturday but that isn't necessarily atypical.  Usually the die-hards that come early are there just for produce, eggs, and plants.  9:00 comes and she makes her first sale of the day.  She is extremely pleased with herself, not only for making the sale but for making a sale before I did!  She called Tim and informed him that she was selling and I was not and that she had more money than Mom :)

Within two hours she had sold out all her pictures and made $4.75!!!  People were paying her extra to "autograph" her pictures.  She was ecstatic!  She called Tim and told her that she was sold out and then informed me that next week she was bringing TWENTY pictures :)

It was a long day after her "sell-out" because she decided that since she sold out we should go home..... so she had some disappointment.  She spent some money getting her face painted like a butterfly; she would have spent the entire amount but mom is so mean!  She informed me she can always sell more pictures next week.  Okay, so money management might be a necessary lesson :)

Judah is quite green at the moment.  He would love to sell something at market as well but hasn't found his "thing" yet.  Tim and I ruled out selling sticks as swords; he can't use powertools unsupervised and Bekah has the picture thing sewed up.  He is thinking...... I might end up with two of them.  We'll see......

I love seeing them grow and become...... watch out world!!!!
