Christmas Eve

I woke up this morning to my very excited children wishing me a Merry Christ-mas Eve!!! I responded by singing "Tonight there's only one more sleep till Christmas" from the Muppet's Christmas Carol :)

Yesterday evening our church held a candlelight Christmas Eve Eve's service - it was such a precious evening. Pastor Mark gave all the kidlets gold-wrapped pieces of chocolate and rubbed frankincense and myrrh on the backs of their hands to help them remember the gifts of the Magi to the Christ child. What a precious evening it was.

Today Tim is working only until lunchtime. I'm making up the salads, pies, etc. for tomorrow's Christmas dinner and we will enjoy a quiet day at home.

Tomorrow Mark and Lynde's family will be over for breakfast (cinnamon rolls!!) and we will be roasting our Christmas goose. We raised two this year for Christmas dinner thinking how much fun it would be to have a "traditional" English Christmas dinner and then had to laugh that when we saw the Christmas Carol with Jim Carey the character comments how it is the poor who eat goose at Christmas - if only he could afford to give his family a taste of turkey!!! How funny is that!?!?!?!? Oh well..... paupers we will be :)

My friend Natalie loaned me some cookbooks with goose in them -- we'll see how this comes out! Hopefully we don't have to pull out a frozen pizza for Christmas dinner :)

I hope your CHRIST-mas celebrations are filled with MARVELOUS joy and INDESCRIBABLE peace as we celebrate not only the fun times with friends and family we love but as we remember the first gift of CHRIST-mas - Christ himself!
