Not too much to report

Not too much new here but did have to report one exception that is absolutely fabulous!!!

Gabrielle came home with a small bull elk. To put this in perspective it isn't a huge, mammoth bull -- it didn't have horns and she thought she had shot a cow. If it was a deer I would call it a button buck -- nonetheless it is meat that is tender, fabulous and very needed!!!! Hurray for Gabrielle!!!!!

Tim, Elijah, and Gabrielle headed to the woods today to hunt for the weekend. The kids still have deer tags to fill and Tim still is hoping for a cow. A large cow would be nice for mass in the freezer but anything works :)

This has escalated the sparring match between Elijah and Gabrielle. Gabrielle got an elk before Elijah (she almost fell on top of them last year - it was completely providential, not her own merit but that is beside the point obviously) Elijah then got a cow that was bigger than Gabrielle's but of course he got one AFTER his sister. This year Elijah got one first but it was a small cow. Gabrielle is harassing him because even though hers is technically still smaller it is a bull.

Oh my........... what can I say?? The joys of teenagers -- they are very close teenagers and they love to TEASE!

Would appreciate your prayers for my hunters this weekend and the rest of us that hold down the fort!!!
