Well..... we saw the doc here today for Tim's preop work. Everything is a go; Tim is scheduled for surgery the 16th. I am really impressed with the doctor. He took Timmer through every step of the surgery, showed him on several different views the meniscal tear (they have that all on computer now - isn't that AMAZING!) We got to see Tim's knee from the kneecap back to the poster side and then across the other way also from the lateral (outside) to the medial side (the inside) where the tear is. They are not going to be putting Tim under general which is great and will speed his recovery tremendously. Then as we were getting finished he respectfully asked us if he could offer a prayer of blessing for Tim's surgery. I was so touched.
He is a very humble man and an outstanding surgeon by all acounts throughout town. When you ask around about who the orthopedist is to go to it is hands-down his name that is given. We would appreciate prayers as we prepare for Tim to be down a bit. Dr. is asking Timmer to take a minimum of one full week off of work (preferably two) and then will release him back to work part-time.
I'll keep you posted as more details come out -- we know it is an afternoon surgery sometime between 1-3 on the 16th.
I've gotta scoot - we have had a nasty bug this last week here at the house. Elijah is on antibiotics; Josiah will most likely get some tomorrow. The little guys are just starting to turn a corner on this thing. Tim was quite sick a week ago.
Oh..... by the way, Elijah got his frost-points for 2007 -- New Year's Eve here was a whopping SIX degrees which put him over the top. Takes a lot of determination to sleep outside in that type of weather, I think.
Am still working on the slideshow --- there are over 80 pix loaded on that but they seem to load about five at a time and just keep cycling through while you wait. I did learn that you can double-click on the pix and it will take you to the full album. Somebody will have to let me know if it is working yet. We are still working on it.
Have a marvelous week! DRIA
