God is good!

This week I have been reminded - God is Good!!! All the time!!!

The weather here has been so WARM this week -- it most definitely feels like spring. I am hopeful that the plants will hold off budding out. We had a warm February and March a couple of years ago and then had NO blooms when it actually became spring due to a late and hard frost. I can't wait to see the green of spring however!!!! The kids are hopeful the cold will remain at least three more weeks - they have two ski dates left in March!

Bekah turns four in three weeks - where has time gone?!?!?! I had planning a fairy tea party - we'll see if I can pull it off. There is a lot on my plate at the moment. I had hoped to make little fairy outfits for her little friends - we'll see.......

The kids skied last weekend and had such a marvelous time. Bekah called me from the chair lift on Tim's blackberry. She said - I'm up high on the chair. When I asked her if she was on the chairlift she said, yeah, I'm awesome. Isn't that hilarious!?!?!??! Tim said he could not get her stop for lunch or a rest of ANYTHING. She finally fell asleep with her head on the table in the lodge. I posted some pictures of our little skiers on the top slide show to the right. I am going to have to make sure that the older kids take a camera next time. Tim doesn't see too much of them on the hill anymore :) Everyone had a great time!

The boys are headed out with Tim and the scout troop today for their annual snow-shoe hike. Four miles on snow-shoes to the middle of nowhere, packing in their own food/water, making snow caves to sleep in -- DOESN'T SOUND FUN TO ME! They are totally jazzed however - this is one of their signature trips every year. Gabrielle has a girlfriend staying tonight; it should be a fun weekend for everybody.

I have sewing to work on this weekend-- ConfiDance Regalia is in eight weeks and I still have six outfits to finish (AAAGH!)

I have been doing two small group studies. Tim and I are doing a small group at church with the Revelation study we did last spring. I am learning so much even as we repeat Missler's study of this deep, deep book. It has been good to go over it again and I am striving to type all of my notes this time -- it is so frustrating to know I have something written SOMEWHERE but don't know where I put it to share it.

I have also been doing a study with a group of ladies and daughters at our home on Tuesday afternoons. The study is called Be Ye Transformed. What an awesome study on taking every thought captive and putting on the mind of Christ. Definitely a study that will encourage me to grow in my walk with the Lord but I have a lot of work to do!!! VERY challenging! It will be good to press in to the Lord and become a better reflection of Him! I would HIGHLY recommend this study to anyone!

Cornelius (our preemie buckling) has been outside with his momma for the past three days - he is doing really well. Gabrielle is catching up on her sleep which is really good as well :) She was getting CRANKY! In seriousness she really did a great job with Cornelius. He has gone from 3 lbs just under two weeks ago to 11 lbs yesterday -- ELEVEN pounds -- his weight gain is impressive. He is really doing well and the doe is doing a great job tending him. For a first-time doe I was very impressed. Many does would reject their kids with everything that happened. Odette has done remarkably well. Mulan is also growing but at a more normal rate. She is just over a week old and has gained three pounds.

Zachy saw the doctor for his arm yesterday. The x-rays show about 70% healing but there is still some swelling. The doctor put him in a splint with freedom for some limited motion. We see Dr. Steele again in three weeks. Zachy lost a little of the wind in his sails -- he was pondering colors for his "last cast" but decided that his splint is cool even though it is just plain black :) A great report overall on his progress!

I think that's it for the Walker news this week. Not too much exciting but our life continues to be busy and more importantly full. I love the life God has given us and He continues to keep us so lovingly. At church on Sunday we were in worship and singing Great is Thy Faithfulness -- I was blessed to be reminded.

Thou changest NOT, Thy compassions they fail not - as thou hast been thou FOREVER wilt be!!
In a time as uncertain as this we can rest assured -- God is good - ALL the time!
