Catching Up

Just trying to catch up - it hasn't been that there is anything major going on, just TOOOOO busy the last couple of weeks.

Let's see......

Tim and I have been working on the new house (of course) I painted the great room which was rewarding. I need to post some pix - which I have been "going to do" for a couple of weeks. Sorry - it is slow without the CD reader. We chose a pine green color for the great room - the paint lady assured me that it will "pop" with the cherry flooring and the aspen ceiling. I don't have a strong grasp of some of her vocabulary, but I do like it :)

Tim is going to texture the rest of the upstairs this weekend and I will paint next week if everything goes according to plan. We got slowed up a bit this week with a touch of the flu which is always a pain.

Elijah, Gabrielle and I worked at Vacation Bible School at Hannaford this week which was a great thing. The younger kids all attended and we were "crew leaders" which basically means we just worked with a group of about ten kids in each activity, moving them from station to station, talking to them, helping them, etc. Gabrielle worked in the Squeaky Beakers Preschool and enjoyed that a lot. The younger kids had a blast!!! I love VBS - it is a great tool for teaching kids about the Lord in a fun way.

We got a couple of new "kids" in our barn --- Melody still has not freshened. We are a little puzzled about that because she looks like she is going to explode but she is SUPER late. Might be a false positive or something, weirdness...... Our neighbors are cutting back their herd so we got two doelings yesterday and will have another one next week -- Pumpkin and Jubilee joined our little family of goats.

My Dad is going to come out for a visit the end of this month - we are EXTREMELY excited about seeing him and having some time to be with him. The kids are already making plans - he is a great boat driver and the kids would like him to take pull us behind him on the lake again. Last time he dumped me in the lake which the kids thought was FABULOUS (of course) :)

Nothing much else to report. Should officially start my day --- Josiah and I need to get the bees some attention. We had hail and SNOW this week and we need to supplement the bees until things get blooming again. The garden seems to be surviving. It wasn't much snow but the plants were so little - the kids tarped the garden, we'll see if things pull out of it. They are a little damaged around the edges but the plant centers seem to be okay.

Need to skeedaddle - hope your Father's day is a wonderful day!!!
